Amritsar: On Monday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal performed ‘sewa’ at the Golden Temple, in the poll-bound state of Punjab.
Reports are that Kejriwal cleaned the utensils at the community kitchen along with others leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party. This comes as part of the voluntary service which can be offered at the Gurudwara.

Leaders accompanying Kejriwal include Ashish Khetan, lawyer HS Phoolka, AAP MPs Bhagwant Mann and Sadhu Singh, actors and AAP members Gul Panag and Gurpreet Ghuggi and among others.
This comes as promised by the AAP leader, who had said that he would come down to the Golden Temple and seek forgiveness for the mistake made by AAP here, who in their Youth manifesto had published the picture of Harmandar Sahib just next to their party symbol – ‘broom’.
Kejriwal in his statement to the media here said, “While releasing the `Youth Manifesto` of the party, we had committed some mistakes unintentionally. To seek forgiveness, we have done sewa at Darbar Sahib.”
During visit at the temple, Kejriwal not only performed seva but was seen going around the shrine with his hands folded and head covered with a white handkerchief, offered prayers. Kejriwal also took part in ‘Langar’.
The Aam Aadmi Party has been facing strong criticism and protests, Shiromani Akali Dal, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and radical Sikh organizations for the mistake they made while releasing the party’s Youth manifesto.
Also, AAP leader Ashish Khetan was booked by the Punjab Police for hurting the religious sentiments of the Sikh community by equating the party’s manifesto with religious books. All this comes ahead of the assembly elections in Punjab.
