Earthquake of 6.0 magnitude hits Indonesia

Jakarta: As per the information given by the weather officials, an earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale hit Indonesia’s Banten province. However, the intensity of the quake was not potential for tsunami.

The quake epicenter was at 271 km southwest Lebak of the province, at 10 km under sea bed, an official of the meteorology and geophysics agency said. The US Geological Survey reported the quake was at 5.6 magnitude.
