EC summons Samajwadi Party leaders on January 13th over symbol row

New Delhi: The Election Commission of India today said that it will look into the matter of Samajwadi Party (SP) dispute over the claim of party’s symbol of cycle on January 13th i.e on Friday.

Earlier in day, in a last bit to resolve the party’s symbol issue Akhilesh Yadav met his father Mulayam Singh Yadav at his residence in Lucknow to sort out political crises between them.

On other hand, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh on Monday said, “Akhilesh will be the Chief Ministerial candidate of our party and we are completely united. There is no question of the party breaking up.”

The Election Commission on Tuesday asked both the sections of the Samajwadi Party to appear before it on January 13th before giving its decision.

The governing body of election in India will hear argument from both the side before coming on conclusion to whom to award the party symbol.
