EgypyAir flight MS804 with 69 on-board goes missing

Paris: On Wednesday, an EgypyAir flight bound for Cairo from Paris with 59 passengers and 10 crew members on-board went missing over the eastern Mediterranean Sea.

The MS804, which is operated by an Airbus A320 left from Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport at 23:09 (CEST) and was to land at the Cairo International airport when it went lost contact with the radar at 02:45 Cairo time, 16 kms into Egyptian airspace; 30-40 miles from the Egyptian coast.

MS804 was flying at an altitude of 37000ft (11,300m) when it went it went missing.

In its statement EgyptAir said, “An informed source at EGYPTAIR stated that Flight no MS804, which departed Paris at 23:09 (CEST), heading to Cairo has disappeared from radar. EGYPTAIR media centre will update as more information becomes available.”

The airlines also claimed that there was no special cargo on the flight. As of now, a search and rescue team is looking out for the plane.

The current status of the plane remains unknown for now, however the officials believe that the plane might have crashed into the sea.
