Itanagar: On Tuesday, in a shocking incident, former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul was found hanging from a ceiling fan at his official residence in Itanagar.
As per reports, he is supposed to have committed suicide today in the morning. He was to vacate his bungalow. Initial reports suggest that Pul was suffering from depression; however the reason why he took such a step is yet to be known.
Calling it an unfortunate incident, ex-CM Nabam Tuki said, “May God give strength to his family; a loss for entire Arunachal Pradesh. Congress family is with his family in this moment of grief.”
He was the CM of the state for a period of 4 months and that too at the time when the state was put under President Rule due to number of developments. Also, he had to resign as the CM on July 2016 following SC’s verdict.
The 47-year-old was sworn in as the 8th chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh on February 19, 2016.
