Explosion left 29 injured in New York city

New York: At least twenty-nine persons were reportedly injured in an explosion in New York city yesterday night.

According to the Mayor, Bill de Blasio said, the incident was not linked to terrorism but appeared to have been an “intentional act”.

The explosion accorded on West 23rd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues in the neighbourhood of Chelsea was reported at around 9 p.m.

Bill de Blasio told reporters at a press conference, “There is no evidence at this point of a terror connection to this incident.”

He further added, “The initial indication is this was an intentional act.”

The New York Police Department (NYPD) tweeted late on Saturday night that investigators found a “possible secondary device” a few blocks away at 27th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues.
