Facebook gets new MD for India

New Delhi: Popular social media website Facebook on Tuesday in New Delhi appointed Umang Bedi as its new managing director to built new strategic relationship with some top clients.

Umang will be taking over from Kirthiga Reddy, after giving charges to Kirthiga to return to United States to take new charge at companies headquarter at Menlo Park in California.

“I am thrilled to join Facebook and i am looking forward to working with the talented teams in India, to help brands and agencies grow their business on our platform. For me it’s a promising opportunity to participate in India’s digital growth,” Bedi said in a statement.

Bedi join Facebook two-years back as leadership experience covering sales and marketing. Before joining Facebook, Umang was managing director of Adobe as South Asian region.

Facebook’s, Asia Pacific, Vice President Dan Neary told media persons “India is known for its great talent pool and we are really pleased to have Umang Bedi, a proven business executive to lead our business in India. I also want to wish Kirthiga the very best in her new global role”.

Umang was graduate from University of Pune with engineering degree and an Harvard Business School.

Bedi will start working at Facebook in July 2016.
