Fidayeen militants attack Indian army camp again, one jawan killed

Srinagar: At least one Border Security Forces (BSF) trooper was killed and another was critical injured during the gunfight at the Indian Army Camp in Jammu and Kashmir’d Baramulla district after they were attacked by the fidayeen militants on yesterday night.

According to the Northern Command of India Army said, the situation at the Rashtriya Rifles cam was later controlled.

The terrorists started firing at around 10.30 p.m, when they tried to enter the Rashtriya Rifle camp.

Reports suggest that there was firing from some houses close to the camps and heavy firing along with grenade blasts were heard but there was no official confirmation of this.

There is no confirmation that how many terrorists attacked the camp. It has been estimated that there were at least four attackers.

As per sources, the gunfight stopped around midnight but operations are on to search the area to locate the terrorists.

While reports said two terrorists have been killed, the Army did not confirm any killings till the filing of the report.

The camp is located at around 60 km from Srinagar in Jabanzpora in Baramulla.

The attack comes two weeks after the terror attack on an army camp in Uri sector, during which at least 19 Indian soldiers were killed on September 18th.
