FIR againt AAP MLA Mohaniya for abusing, misbehaving with a woman

New Delhi: In what seems to be a trouble for the Aam Aadmi Party, woman has registered a complaint against the party’s MLA Dinesh Mohaniya for misbehaving with her.

Reports are that the complainant has accused the AAP MLA for supposedly pushing and abusing few women who visited his office so as to inform him about the water scarcity that they were all facing.

On the basis of a complaint, an FIR has been lodged against the MLA at the Neb Sarai Police Station under Section 506 (criminal intimidation), Section 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and Section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code.

The woman in her statement to a news agency said, “When we went to Dinesh Mohaniya’s office, he refused to identify me, even when I meet him daily because of water issues.”

She further went to say that the AAP lawmaker pushed and abused her along with the other women. She added, “When he abused and pushed us, we also did the same. Are we here to be beaten up?”

However, these claims by the woman have been foiled by the MLA who said that the woman is just trying to defame him and that there is no video or a picture to prove the same. Along with this, he said that the water mafia is frustrated because of the government’s crackdown.

Mohaniya is the vice chairman of Delhi Jal Board.
