Court orders FIR against Akhlaq family for cow slaughter

Lucknow: The Surjapur court District chief judicial magistrate Vijay Kumar ordered the police to register FIR and investigate the matter against seven members of Akhlaq family in Bisada cow slaughtering case.

The order has been given by judicial magistrate after a group of residents field an application under Section 156 (3) of CrPC.

The request was made to direct police to lodge an FIR in the case. The villagers were headed by Surajpal Singh who has filed a complaint based on the forensic report.

Surajpal Singh lawyer, Rajeev Tyagi said he had named seven persons of Akhlaq family members including wife, mother, brother, daughter and son. Apart from these names the name of Akhlaq’s brother wife is also named in the complaint.

Lawyer of Akhlaq family said that he is going to challenge that order in higher court. He further added that “All the accused have admitted their roles in Akhlaq murder.”

On other hand Akhlaq family members were not happy with the court decision.
