First test between India-England ends in draw

Rajkot: The first Test cricket between host India and visiting team England resulted in a draw at Rajkot today.

England set a target of 310 in 49 overs, India were 172/6 when the captains of both the countries-Virat Kohli and Alastair Cook-jointly agreed to call off the game on the fifth and final day at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.




Test skipper Virat Kohli was batting on 49 runs, while Ravindra Jadeja was accompany on 33 at stumps day on final day.




India and England will play four more Test by both the teams during this five-match series, with the next one slated to be held in Visakhapatnam from November 17-21.
