Five killed at the illegal mining site, government unmoved

Mahoba: Illegal mining is turning out to be an unmanageable problem in the drought struck area of Bundelkhand. As many as five labours were killed in the Charkhari area at the time when there was illegal mining carried out.

Piece of mountain fell on these workers during the mining process. In the rescue operation carried out by the officials, three dead bodies of the laborers have been carried out till now and two of them are still buried under the debris.

As soon as the DM and SSP got the information about the incident they rushed to the spot and compensation of two lakh rupees has been declared by the government. However, the accused contractor fled from the spot before the police officials could catch him.

Mhoba is one of the prime sites where mining is been carried out under the backing of the state government and the mining minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati.

Earlier, there have been several incidences where the government and the mining department of Uttar Pradesh came under the scanner.

Be it murders or firing or FIR lodged against several contractors and sand mafia’s, there has not been any kind of action taken by the government of Uttar Pradesh.

A big share of income from these mining sites is been given to the ministers and the officials of the mining department and hence there has not been any action taken against any of these people who are responsible for the deaths of the poor people working there or the nearby area.
