Chennai: Commentator and former Indian opening batsmen Aakash Chopra has the opinion that Test skipper Virat Kohli should be handed the responsibilities of the One-Day International (ODI) matches as well, on a condition if the selectors don’t feel present skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni can carry on till the 2019 cricket World Cup.
Former opener further stated that the national selectors should take a call subsequent to the 2017 Champions Trophy on Dhoni further responsibilities so that Kohli can be given minimum of two years time in these state of affairs.

He further stated that he does not see any issue of Dhoni playing under the Kohli in the 50-over format of the game.
“Yes, Dhoni can surely play under Kohli in ODI,” Chopra said.
“But that’s a call selectors need to take post the Champions trophy in 2017. If they don’t view Dhoni as a captain in 2019, it’s only fair to give Kohli two years before the event,” he added.
