Mexico: In a shocking incident, a gunman opened fire on a public during a musical festival at the BPM concert in Mexico which resulted in killing of at least five persons today.

The incident took place in the early hours of Monday morning when a gunman started firing at Blue Parrot club in a popular tourist resort of Playa Del Carmen.

A Scottish DJ Jackmaster who was playing at the festival when the incident took place, tweeted that people should stay in their hotel rooms for the safer side.

The Music festival which has been organised from past 10 years and is popular among the foreign tourists especially from the United Kingdom and the United States, The 2017 event marked the festival’s 10th anniversary.

A second such kind of incident is believed to have happened at The Jungle Club.

According to an eye witness, shooting began “literally two metres from us” in the club, “We don’t know if it’s a terrorist attack or something else, but we were the first ones to hit the ground and watched it all unfold.”

Media reports said the shooting may be connected to Mexico’s ongoing wars between drug cartels.
