New Delhi: Outraged with the constantly spreading rumours of him joining politics ahead of Assembly elections in the state of Punjab, Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh officially turned down all the rumours that were round the corner and said that he has no such plan as now of joining politics.

The veteran cricketer from Jhalandar, took to Twitter and overturned rumours of him participating in the elections. The off-spiner tweeted, “I have no intentions of joining politics any time soon. Please stop spreading rumors.”

Harbhajan has been out of the Indian squad for quite some time now and performances from spinners like Ravindra Jadeja, Jayant Yadav, Amit Mishra and Ravichandran Ashwin have made his chances of getting into the team only uninviting.

The rumour about Harbhajan joining the politics was widespread to a higher extent after Navjot Singh Sidhu met Congress vice President Rahul Gandhi yesterday and after this the assumption of the cricket to join politics was more a matter of talk.
