Gurgaon: The Haryana government announced yesterday that, all government colleges in Haryana will be facilitating free Wi-Fi campuses. The state education minister, Bilas Sharma said that the higher department of education has decided to set-up free Reliance Jio Wi-Fi facilities for the students and the teachers.
Bilas Sharma went on to say that: “Reliance Jio would deploy overall infrastructure for deployment of Wi-Fi or small cell in all the government colleges free of cost. As part of the introductory offer for all government colleges, it would give 20 MB free usage per day per user for all students and staff for one year. It would also block all objectionable websites as per government of India directions.”
The government college principles have been ordered to provide appropriate space and safety for Wi-Fi systems. They are also ordered to give proper electricity connections for the set-up and the electricity bill will be paid off by the Reliance Jio.
On the other hand, the chief minister of Haryana ML Khattar went on to say that: “The state would soon become free from level crossings as the state government has signed an agreement with the Railway Ministry to expand the rail network in the state. All level crossings would be converted either into railway underpasses or over bridges.”
