HC questions SP, BSP’s clemency on Noida Authority chairman Rama Raman; restricts IAS officer of duties

Lucknow: On Friday, the Allahabad HC has seized all the powers of UP’s IAS officer Rama Raman. The court has come down strictly on the chairman of the Noida authority. This order came down as a shocker not only for the Akhilesh Yadav government in the state but also for the IAS officer.

Rama Raman is the chairman of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Development Authority for the past seven years. The court in its order has asked the UP government to take the decision on the transfer of the IAS officer within 2 weeks.

The court’s order comes as a result of a PIL filed by Jitin Goel in Allahabad HC. Also, the court has demanded the state government to give an answer as to why did they make Rama Raman the chairman of three authorities. Raman faces corruption charges.

Rama Raman was also the chairman of these various authorities during the chief ministerial ship of BSP Supremo Mayawati. The IAS office has been restricted of his duties and power by the court.
