HC seeks details of contempt petition against Panda, V K Gupta

Lucknow: In the contempt petition against Principal Secretary Home Debashish Panda and DG Police Recruitment Board V K Gupta, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court today sought certain documents from the petitioner IPS officer Amitabh Thakur.

The bench of Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya said that in order to appropriately appreciate the purport of the High Court order, it will be necessary to peruse the articles of charges furnished to the petitioner, hence he shall present it through supplementary affidavit on next date of hearing on 10 May 2016.

Amitabh said in the petition that the High Court had directed on 13 January 2016 that the departmental enquiry shall be proceeded with only after providing all the documents to him but the State government has reinitiated the enquiry despite many documents still not being handed over to him, which is contempt of the High Court.
