Heavy rains affect traffic in many areas of Delhi

New Delhi: On Saturday morning, life came to a standstill in Delhi due to heavy rainfall which led to water-logging and traffic jams in the many parts of the national capital.

Rainfall which began early in the morning today, led to traffic congestion in Delhi’s ITO area and water logging was reported from AIIMS flyover.

The many areas including Ashok Vihar, Jasola, Okhla, IIT Gate, Chelmsford Road towards Paharganj, Ring Road Sarai Kale Khan towards DND, Sarita Vihar, Defence Colony, INA, Rajghat towards ITO, Aurbindo Marg, Anand Vihar, Wazirbad and among others have being affected by the heavy rains.

In the last nine hours, the city has received 43 mm rainfall with the minimum temperature recorded at 24.3 degrees Celsius.

The India Meteorological Department in its report said that humidity was 100 per cent at 8:30 am.
