Hockey Champions Trophy: India beat South Korea 2-1

London: India today thrashed South Korea 2-1 in a Hockey Champions Trophy game played at the Lee Valley Hockey Centre. The next focus of the team is to play for the gold medal match alive.

For India S.V. Sunil broke the deadlock in the 39th minute. South Korea bounced back to equalise via a deflection from Kim Juhun before Nikkin Thimmaiah guided a Talwinder Singh’s cross from left at the far post that turned out to be the winner.

India subsequent to this win has moved to the second spot with seven points from four matches, while South Korea remained in the fifth spot.
