Honeypreet Insaan traced, may surrender before court today

Chandigarh: Honeypreet Insaan, adopted daughter of jailed self-styled godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, is likely to surrender before court on Tuesday.

As per sources, after being on the run for over a month, Honeypreet alias Priyanka Taneja may finally surrender before a Panchkula court today. Last week, her transit anticipatory bail application was rejected by the Delhi High Court.

Honeypreet went into hiding after violence broke out in Panchkula on August 25 following Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s conviction in two rape cases. She and other Dera members were booked for inciting violence.

Honeypreet, who is one of the closest aides of Ram Rahim, has rubbished the reports that she had fled to Nepal.

“I was very much in India, I did not go to Nepal,” she said.
Claiming that she is innocent, Honeypreet said, “Truth will prevail and the world will see this. I’m pained and shocked, how can the world do this to us? We are great patriots and we love India.”

According to sources, when Honeypreet was asked about her relationship with Ram Rahim, she described her association with him as ‘pure’.

Honeypreet came into limelight when she accompanied Ram Rahim to the CBI court. Also, she has acted opposite the flamboyant 50-year-old rape convict in many films. She became Gurmeet’s shadow in the past few years.
