House collapses in MP due to floods; 7 dead, many injured

Bhopal: Heavy rainfall leading to floods in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district turned out to be disastrous as a house collapsed here, burying seven alive whereas injuring many others.

The incident took place at the Rahatgarh area where floods completely ram shackled a house and also caused a lot of destruction here. Seven have been reported to have died whereas three others have been severely injured. The injured – Mehtab, his son Lakhan and one Mahendra are undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The incident took place in the wee hours when the victims were asleep.

The deceased have been identified as Manorani, his wife Mehtab, sons Vika, Nitin, daughter Sanjana; Kallu, wife Maya and their daughter Tamanna.

Investigation in the incident is underway.

Rains followed by floods have brought life to a standstill here for almost a week. Reports are that the rains have submerged around 80 villages in the state.
