Hyderabad woman working as house help in Saudi Arabia murdered

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a woman from India who was working as a maid in Saudi Arabia was supposedly found dead.

As per reports, the deceased who has been identified as Asima Khatoon (25) went to Riyad in December 2015 on a business visa which was provided to her by few agents who supply labor from India to the Middle East.

In her statement to a daily, mother of the deceased said that her daughter told her about being held as a hostage on the very first day and was mentally as well as physically tortured by her employer, Abdul Rahman Ali Mohammed.

Ghousia Khatoon, mother of the victim said, “I had sent my daughter abroad to work and earn. She was locked in a room the day she reached there and was not given any food. My daughter used to call me and cry.”

Report of her death came three days after the Telangana government interfered and asked the Centre to help free the girl from the clutches of her employer. A letter has now been sent to Saudi Arabia on behalf of the state government to bring back her body.
