New Delhi: India and Afghanistan today exchanged agreements on a mutual legal assistance treaty, for peaceful uses of outer space and an extradition treaty in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and visiting Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.
External Affairs Spokesperson Vikas Swarup stated: “One more step in closer ties. Exchange of agreements on MLAT, Extradition & peaceful uses of outer space following talks.”
The Union Cabinet approved the inking of an Extradition Treaty between India and Afghanistan two days before. The treaty would provide a legal framework for seeking extradition of terrorists, economic offenders and other criminals from and to Afghanistan.
