India, Israel jointly conducts test of ballistic missile

Bhubaneswar: India along with Israel has successfully conducted test fire of surface-to-air missile from cost of Odisha today.

The officials have confirmed this news that an Indo-Israeli medium range ballistic missile test was conducted successfully.

This missile was test fired from launch pad no-3 of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur in Balasore district at 8:16 am on Thursday morning.

The Indian defence officials said, the missile was jointly developed by Israel Aerospace Industry, India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Israel’s Administration for the Development of Weapons and Technological Infrastructure.

The missile has capacity of defend any type of airborne threat including aircraft and helicopter, officials added.

The whole system of this missile has multi-functional surveillance and threat alert radar for tracking, detection and guidance of the missile.

The whole village has been evacuated by ITR authorities for security and precautionary measure around the launch complex surrounding radius of 2.5 kms radius.

The district administration of Balasore has temporarily shifted near about 3,665 civilians residing within 2.5 kms of the launch pad.
