India-Pak trade gunfire in Jammu

Jammu and Kashmir: The Pakistani and Indian Army today traded gunfire along the Line of Control (LoC) in the poonch area of Jammu.

While explaining the incident to the media, Defence Ministry spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta went on to say: “The Pakistan Army initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars at 9.05 a.m. today (Wednesday) on the Indian Army posts.”

He further went on to say: “The Indian Army is retaliating strongly and effectively. The firing exchange still continues.”

The Pakistan Army has been targeting Indian positions along the LoC in Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu region during the last four days.
