India to take on England in their first T20I at Green Park on Republic Day

Kanpur: Host Indian team today joined net practice session at the Kanpur’s Green Park stadium here today before the start of their encounter against visitors England in the three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket series.




As the tournament is switching its format vast over to shortest format everyone will be looking forward on seasoned campaigners Suresh Raina and Ashish Nehra who both were making a comeback after almost a year’s lay-off-when the Men-in-Blue take on England.




The host having pocketed the One Day Internationals (ODI) series by 2-1 under the captaincy of Virat Kohli who will be aiming to make the most of their limited overs experience, as the T20I is the series before the International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy starting from June 1st.




The toss will play important role in Thursday’s match that will begin at 4.30 p.m. instead of the regular 7.30 p.m. start due to the prevailing dew and foggy conditions.
