India to host Kabaddi World Cup 2016 in October

New Delhi: Let the month of October come and the game Kabaddi which originated from India is going to host its first World Cup this year which will be featuring 12 countries.

The countries which are likely to participate are as follows United States of America (USA), Canada, United Kingdom (UK), Australia, Iran, Poland, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Korea, Japan, and Kenya, the date is yet to be declared later.

Janardan Singh Gehlot, President, International Kabaddi Federation, “The International Kabaddi Federation is immensely proud that Kabaddi is growing in popularity so fast and is all set to breakthrough on a global stage with the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup scheduled in India.”

Kabaddi which became a part of Asian Games in the year 1990 and India have won all the gold medals since.

The Kabaddi World Cup 2016 will be broadcasted on Star Sports. All matches will be telecast exclusively on the Star Sports network and Hotstar.
