Indian army foils another infiltration bid in Kashmir

Srinagar: The Indian army today foiled an attempt by separatist guerrillas to infiltrate the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

According to Defence Ministry spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia told media persons that the incident took place at Tangdhar sector.

The officer said, “A group of heavily armed terrorists was challenged by the troops, forcing them to withdraw back into Pakistan.”

He said a search operation had been launched to ensure that no terrorist managed to sneak into Jammu and Kashmir.
