Indian batsmen Iyer feels motivated with opposition’s sledging

Mumbai: Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer stated that while playing against Australia in the three-day warm-up match he was sledged by the Australian players and further mentioned that this turned out to be a motivation factor for him.

Iyer played a brilliant innings of 85 runs till the close of the second day’s play and was looking rock solid at the crease when the visitors thought to try out for the easy way to get him out i.e with sledging.

According to Iyer, Australian wicketkeeper Matthew Wade began sledging and then was followed by the star batsman David Warner as both tried to distract him to earn his wicket.

Iyer stated: “They started to sledge and said ‘this guy does not have defence, he can play only attacking shots’. It was first Wade and then Warner too joined in.”
