New Delhi: Ahead of Republic Day celebrations security has been beefed up as strategic points in view of intelligence inputs about threats from terror group will target important places in the city, with deployment of thousand of policemen and anti-aircrafts guns around Delhi and NCR.




As the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee along with Commander-in-Chief of the three forces army, air force and navy will take salute of Republic Day parade the security arrangement have been made at Rajpath.

Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP), Deependra Pathak told media persons, “In view of the terror threat, over 25,000 policemen have been deployed have been deployed in Delhi.”




Pathak said, “The police teams will also be deployed in crowded market, bus stops, public enclosures, peripheral, inner and outer areas of Delhi will be provided massive security cover.”

The officer said, “The bordering areas of Delhi-NCR will be closely monitored through CCTV cameras.”




He added that Delhi Police has taken all safety measure based on intelligence inputs about terror threats to some vital installations.

Besides Delhi police, thousands of personnel from paramilitary forces have also been pressed for security duties.




Apart from Pranab Mukherjee, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Mahyan, who is the Chief Guest at this year’s Republic Day function, will be seated on the dais with Vice President Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
