IndvsAus: Australia set 441 runs target for India

Pune: With the help of a brilliant ton by Steven Smith, Australian team today gave India a huge total of 441 runs to win in the fourth innings of the first Test match played against Australia here at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.

Australia dominated the first session on the third day of the first Test against India and is probably looking too strong for a comprehensive victory.

Indian team got just 105 runs on the board in the first innings and that was the time when match tilted towards the Aussies. Smith got several chances by the Indian team in the second innings that Australia played and that facilitated him to get to his century.

Ajinkya Rahane missed his catch off Ravichandran Ashwin’s bowling and Smith counted on the opportunity that he was given to post his first century in India.

However, Ashwin was the most successful among the Indian bowlers with figures of 4/119. Jadeja and Umesh Yadav were next in line and clinched three and two wickets respectively.
