IndvsEng: Karun Nair smashes triple hundred, becomes second Indian to do so

Batsmen Karun Nair today became the second Indian to smash triple Test match century for India after Virendra Sehwag who has two triple hundreds to his name.

India made 759 which is also their highest ever Test score that too with Cheteshwar Pujara making 15, M Vijay 29 and Kohli 15. It was a strong performance by the young lads for India with KL Rahul smashing 199 and Karun Nair scoring mammoth 303 runs not out.

Earlier, After England made comprehensive 477 in their first innings of the fifth Test match against India played here at the Chennai stadium; it was India’s chance to show their batting phenomenon. Indian batsmen stuck to the crease and made the most of the suitable batting conditions.

Lokesh Rahul was the one who laid foundation of the Indian batting lineup along with fruitful contribution from Patel who made 71 runs and then followed by stupendous century by Karun Nair.

Though Kohli was not successful to rise on to the occasion but it was still a strong batting reply by the host’s youngsters rising on to the occasion.

Indian team smashed some quick runs in the post lunch and post tea session although we have to wait for tomorrow to get some excitement from the last match of the series.
