IPL season 9 goes big on Facebook, record 360 mn conversations this year

New Delhi: According to Facebook, approximately 30 million people joined the conversation on Facebook during the ninth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) that finished last weekend.

Company’s statement said: “With 360 million posts, comments and likes, this year’s tournament drove the highest level of conversation Facebook has measured for any IPL season. The Facebook pages of the IPL and eight teams totalled over 140 million video views during the season.”

There are no guesses for the most talked about player of the tournament and it was Virat Kohli from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) who was also awarded player of the tournament.

Gujarat Lions was the most talked about team this season while f we talk about the video then the bhangra of dancing trio of Mandeep Singh, Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle from RCB went viral on Facebook and had more than seven million views. During the 50-day tournament, the “Indian Premier League Facebook Page” grew by over two million fans to 18.3 million.
