ITBP operating base in Chhattisgarh attacked by Naxals with guns, rockets

Raipur: On Thursday, early in the morning, gunfight took place between the Indo-Tibetan Border Police forces and the Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Kondagaon area. As per reports, there have been more than 600 rounds of firing from both the sides.

Initial report suggest that the around 100 Maoists insurgents, after attacking the ITBP’s operating base at Kondagaon, fled away from the area. There have been no casualties in the gunfight; however the Naxals fired around four rockets in the area.

Previously, LJP leader Sudesh Paswan was killed in Dumaria last month during an attack.

Following this attack, the Naxals had also put up a hand-written pamphlet warning the police informers of many more similar attacks.

LJP has thereby demanded President Rule following the increasing crime and lawlessness in the state.
