Kamal Haasan comments on Padmawati issue, demands Deepika’s freedom

Tamil film actor Kamal Haasan has come out in support of “Padmavati” actress Deepika Padukone and asserted that he respects the actress’ freedom and further insisted “cerebral India” to wake up.

“I want Deepika’s head.. saved. Respect it more than her body. Even more her freedom. Do not deny her that. Many communities have opposed my films. Extremism in any debate is deplorable.

“Wake up cerebral India. Time to think. We’ve said enough. Listen Ma Bharat,” Kamal tweeted on Monday night.

Earlier, subsequent to the hullaballo caused regarding the story line of Padmawati and scenes shot in this movie, a reward of Rs 10-crore was declared for beheading filmmaker Sanajy Leela Bhansali and Deepika over their film “Padmavati”.

On the other hand, Kunwar Surajpal Singh Ammu, a ruling BJP leader in Haryana yesterday stuck to his words that he made regarding the announcement of Rs 10-crore reward for beheading the two.

Ammu supposed he had doubled the bounty on the heads of Deepika and Bhansali to Rs 10 crore. Ammu also released a threat to break the legs of actor Ranveer Singh.

Shri Rajput Karni Sena, an organisation of the Rajput community, has been objectioning against “Padmavati” in the last seevral months and are now seeking a ban on the film.

In “Padmavati”, Ranveer Singh is portraying the role of Alauddin Khilji, the Delhi Sultan infatuated with legendary 13th century queen of Chittor Rani Padmavati that is been essayed by Deepika.
