Kerala constructor registers FIR against Congress’ Sonia Gandhi over non-payment of dues

Thiruvananthapuram: On Wednesday, a known contractor filed an FIR against Congress President Sonia Gandhi over non-payment of dues.

Reports are that an FIR was lodged against Sonia by M/S Heather Constructions Managing Partner in Kerala. Apart from Sonia, others who will find their names in the FIR are Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Development Studies Chairman Ramesh Chennithala, former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy and Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president VM Sudheeran.

The Heather Constructions Managing Partner Rajeev, in his complaint has alleged that he was been given the contract for constructing the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Development Studies in Thiruvananthapuram, however now, the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has said that it has no money for the project.

Also, the contract to build the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Development Studies was commissioned by former KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala.

The institute was inaugurated by Sonia Gandhi in October 2005. Also, on receiving a legal notice over non-payment of dues, Sonia had asked KPCC to make settlements, however the constructor had alleged that he did not receive any money.

This report comes days after Congress got defeated during the Assembly Polls in Kerala. Also, a source close to the development said that the dues were not paid due to the ongoing brawl within the Kerala Unit of the state.
