Kiwi’s thrash Bangladesh by 8 wickets to win series 3-0

Nelson: New Zealand today defeated Bangladesh by eight wickets and managed to clinch the one day international series by clean sweeping the Bangladeshi team by 8 wickets.

It was a strong batting performance by the Bangladesh openers Tamim Iqbal (55) and Imrul Kayes (44); however, they could not take their team to a comprehensive score.

Bangladesh was being constrained to 236 runs for nine in 50 overs and reply New Zealand captain Kane Williamson (95 not out) played superbly and laid the foundation for the Kiwi’s win.

It was a brilliant 179-run second-wicket stand between Kane and Neil Broom (97) that took New Zealand team to comprehensive win with 8.4 overs to spare.

Mustafizur was the one for the Bangladesh to deliver strong bowling performance picking up 2 wickets by just giving 32 runs.
