Korea Open: Indian shuttler Parupalli Kashyap qualifies for men’s singles

Seoul: Indian shuttler Parupalli Kashyap today played superbly to qualify for the men’s singles competition of the Korea Open Superseries following his two wins in the qualifying matches.

Parupalli Kashyap initially defeated home challenger Gyung Bo Ko 15-21, 23-21, 21-19 before overcoming Thailand’s Pannawit Thongnuam 15-21, 21-16, 21-15.

Kashyap, who is coming off a long injury lay-off will face Tian Houwei of China. Kidambi Srikanth, Ajay Jayaram, B. Sai Praneeth and H.S. Prannoy will also compete in the men’s singles at the Korea Open.
