Landslide in Katra, Jammu leaves 4 dead, several Vaishno Devi pilgrims injured

Jammu: On Saturday, due to a landslide in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, around four pilgrims were killed and many others were injured.

As per reports of a leading daily, the landslide occurred near Ardhkumari temple in Katra. Among the deceased, three died on the spot. Those injured badly, were admitted to the Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Speciality Hospital where they are currently undergoing treatment.

CEO, Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, Ajit Kumar Sahu said, “Our team went to the site as soon as the incident was reported to us.” Also, he added they always make sure that the pilgrims who come here are provided safety.

The incident took place due to rains which the valley is witnessing for the past few days. Accident site is just 6km away from the Vaishno Devi temple.
