‘Akira’ starring Sonakshi Sinha failed to impress the audience and lost buzz about it although starring major star castes including Anurag Kashyap and Kankona Sen Sharma. On the day of its release it maintained a slow pace while collecting of Rs. 5.15 crore during the first day at the box office.

The movie faced low tide at the box office with dull performance. The movie apparently did steady business on day 2 of its release, by earning 5.30 crore on Saturday. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the action movie is really crucial for Sonakshi as she had adapted a new avatar for movie. This movie is first attempt of Sonakshi to do women oriented movie. Made with a budget of Rs. 30 crore, Akira is likely to have a good run at the box office on Monday as it’s a holiday and there is no other competition for few days.

Akira likely to get a good fight by “Baar Baar Dekho,” starring Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif, which is slated to be released on Sept. 9. Thus the first week is really important for movie and can be expected to get maximum collection in upcoming days.
