Uttar Pradesh: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today stated that a grand alliance or ‘Mahagathbhandhan’ is needed at the national level in order to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
While talking to the media, he went on to say: “The Grand Alliance of JD-U, RJD and Congress proved successful in Bihar assembly polls in 2015 when it defeated the BJP-led NDA. The only answer is a ‘Mahagathbandhan’ of non-BJP parties at the national level now.”
Nitish requested all the non-BJP parties to set their own agenda instead of giving their views to the agenda by those in power in New Delhi.
Kumar added that there is no shortage of non-BJP leaders for the prestigious post of the Prime Minister of India.
