Maharashtra ATS, Kerala Police arrest another IS suspect in Thane district

Mumbai: On Saturday, an Islamic State suspect was nabbed from Thane during a joint operation carried out by Kerala Police and Maharashtra Anti-terrorism squad.

The arrested man who is a resident of Parbhani district in Maharashtra was in touch with a wanted accused named Farooque. Farooque is supposedly based in Syria.

Last month, the ATS in the state had arrested a 31-year-old man who was supposedly in touch with the members of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Also, on June 29, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) detained around 11 men during searched in 10 places in the city of Hyderabad. They were being instructed by the ISIS to carry out attacks in India.

Five of the arrested men were identified as Mohammed Ibrahim Yazdani alias Ibbu, Habeeb Mohammed alias Sir, Mohammed Ilyas Yazdani, Abdullah Bin Ahmed Al Amoodi and Muzaffar Hussain Rizwan.
