Maharashtra Revenue Minister Eknath Khadse resigns from post

Mumbai: On Saturday, Maharashtra Revenue Minister Eknath Khadse, who has been under scanner for illicit land deal and his connections with the underworld put forth his resignation before the state’s CM Devendra Fadnavis.

As per reports, the resignation comes a day after Khadse visited Fadnavis at his residence in Mumbai. During the meet, he held a serious discussion which came following his links with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and the dubious land deal. If reports are to be believed, Khadse was asked to quit from his post by the BJP high command.

As of now, the opposition Congress has demanded a probe in the incident.

Chief Minister Fadnavis who met BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday to discuss on the same said that he has submitted a report to Shah and that now the party would direct as to what steps will be taken against Khadse.

Also, Fanavis will meet PM Narendra Modi to discuss on the same and that a final call on the issue would be taken by the Prime Minister, Shah and other senior cabinet ministers.

Khadse is alleged to have engaged into illicit land deals and having connection with the don Dawood Ibrahim. His resignation comes following pressure by the Shiv Sena and social worker Anna Hazare.
