Mamata Banerjee to take oath as West Bengal CM today, political heavy weights to grace event

Kolkata: On Friday, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee will take oath as the Chief Minister of West Bengal for the second term amid many senior politicians including the Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay. In the 42-member assembly, there will be some fresh faces including Kolkata Mayor Shovan Chatterjee, former Indian cricketer Laxmi Ratan Shukla and singer Indranil Sen among others.

The oath taking ceremony of Mamata will be attended by Bangladesh Industry Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Union ministers Arun Jaitley, Venkaiah Naidu and Babul Supriyo, Chief Ministers Arvind Kejriwal (Delhi), Akhilesh Yadav (Uttar Pradesh), Nitish Kumar (Bihar), and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah.

Apart from them, business tycoon Mukesh Ambani, actors Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and OM Puri will also grace the event with their presence.

Keeping in mind the biggies who will be present at the event, heavy security has been deployed and thorough arrangements have been made.

The VVIP guest will be seated in the VIP lounge. Also, a stage of the size of a tennis court has been made for the grand event. All the arrangements have been made by the state’s government.

This is fir the very first time when the CM will take oath on Red Road.
