Man forcibly rapes, marry woman

Faridabad: A man today first raped 21-year-old women who use to perform religious practice ‘Kirtan’ in his area and then later forcibly married her, according to police.

The woman in her written complaint against man said that she use to perform ‘Kirtan’ in area where a man belongs to same locality invited her to his resident to perform the same and alleged tried to rape her but she somehow managed to escape.

Police said, “The next day accused forcefully took her to an isolated location and allegedly raped her.”

The victim was then taken to Nain Chowk of Jawahar colony area where he forcefully married her.

The accused later took victim to Faridabad Court and made her sign the marriage papers.

Police said, the accused then took her to Sanjay colony police station and demanded protection from the victim’s family.

A case has been registered against the accused and investigation is underway, police said.
