Mathura violence update: Rajnath assures help from centre after reviewing the situation

New Delhi: Home Minister Rajnath Singh today reviewed the situation in Mathura city where as many as 20 people lost their lives in the clash that took place yesterday between the activists and the police administration during an anti-encroachment drive carried out by police.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh took to twitter and stated: “Spoke to UP CM Shri Akhilesh Yadav and reviewed the situation in Mathura. I have also assured him of all possible help from the Centre.”

Rajnath Singh also showed his distress over the incident and stated: “Anguished over the loss of lives in the incidents of violence in Mathura. May God give strength to the bereaved families to bear the loss.”

Police yesterday began the operation to vacate the hundred of acres of land of Jawahar Bagh from the activists of splinter group of Baba Jai Gurudeo.

The operation resulted in death of SP city and one SO after they were hit with bullets during the clash. Several activists were also reported to be dead during the clash.

Group of Baba Jai Gurudeo present there claim themselves to be member of Azad Bharat Vidhik Vaicharik Kranti Satyagrahi and had occupied the land on the alleged reason of dharna more than two years back.
