New Delhi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today criticised the killing of 17 soldiers in Kashmir by militants and said those responsible for it will not go unpunished.

Modi tweeted, “We strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack in Uri. I assure the nation that those behind this despicable attack will not go unpunished.”

He said, “We salute all those martyred in Uri. Their service to the nation will always be remembered. My thoughts are with the bereaved families.”

Modi said he had talked to both Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.
