Mouli Ganguly feels Indian TV does not explore characters

Mumbai: Indian television actress turned film star, who has appeared in many Hindi as well as in Bengali movies Mouli Ganguly today feels that as an actor one does not get chance to explore various complexities in character at small screen.

The actress who got fame from “Kaahin Kissi Roz”, however, believes that actor can play interesting characters within the restricted frame.

Mouli told media persons, “In our TV, we don’t go with complete complexity in our characters. Things are kept quite simple in a black and white way…there is a set pattern which TV follows.”

This 33-years-old, Kolkata born lady will be now seen on the Zee TV show “Jamai Raja” in the role of a shrewd and dominating woman.

She added, “And they follow that pattern may be because it works. From an actor’s point of view, all I can say is there still can be interesting and complex characters to play on screen.”

Mouli who got married to Mazhar Sayed, has appeared in several shows like “Saakshi”, “Kusum” and “Laagi Tujhse Lagan”, says today many TV shows are not running for a long time as the audiences need a “change.”
