Mahoba: Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav has been summoned by a local court for his recent remarks on rape. At an event of distributing free e-rickshaws, Singh had said that one man commits rape and four are named in the complaint and that it was not practical for four men to rape a woman.
Taking cognizance of his controversial remark, Civil Judge (Junior Division) of Kulpahad Tehsil Ankit Goel has summoned the leader.
The summons have been issued under sections 3 and 4 of Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1956 and under IPC sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 505 (statements conducing to public mischief), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 116 (abetment of offence punishable with imprisonment).
Mulayam Singh Yadav had said, “One commits rape and then four more are named. Kabhi aisa ho sakta hai kya? Aisa practical hi nahin hai. (Can such a thing happen? It is impractical).â€
